Zamfara commissioner resigns to contest LG election

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mua’zu Haidara Kaura has resigned his appointment to contest the local government election in the state.

DAILY POST reports that ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara State has sold nomination forms for the local government polls slated for November 16th, 2024.

The PDP aspirants have already started their campaigns across the state, saying that the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, ZASIEC, has announced that the sale of nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship elections would commence on October 25.

The state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has not made any official statement regarding the election.

But the state APC secretary, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima told DAILY POST that they are waiting for a decision by the national leaders of the party.

According to him, the decision would be made public to the their teeming supporter, on whether to go into the contest or not.
