Newscenter Media News The U.S. Department of the Treasury has imposed strict penalties against Integrity Technology Group, a cybersecurity company based in Beijing, on Friday.
The company is charged with aiding the state-sponsored hacker organization Flax Typhoon in “multiple computer intrusion incidents against U.S. victims,” including key infrastructure in the United States.
Flax Typhoon effectively targeted a number of American colleges, government offices, media outlets, and telecommunications companies, according to the U.S. Department of State.

This comes days after American wireless network operator Verizon confirmed that it has been able to secure its network following a cyberattack launched by Chinese hackers.
The company, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Richard Young, said that its network was targeted by a China-linked Salt Typhoon cyber-espionage group.
He said that the company has “contained the cyber incident brought on by this nation-state threat actor” and that it has not detected any threat actor activity on its network “for some time.”
