Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman and Nicolo Zaniolo were on target for Atalanta as they helped the Seria A team seal a 2-0 victory over hosts Stuttgart.
In Paris, Paris St-Germain were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid. Feyenord fell to a surprise 3-1 loss at home to RB Salzburg. Sparta Prague also lost at home, 2-1 to Brest.
Earlier in the day, Aston Villa were beaten 1-0 by Club Brugge while Shakhtar Donetsk came from behind to beat Young Boys 2-1.
Bayern pipped Benfica 1-0.
