Newscenter Media News Popular social media platform, Tiktok, has denied links with the Chinese government.
The platform owned by ByteDance, a Beijing-based technology company, made clarification as it continues to battle its way out of a law that may affect its business in the United States.
The US President, Joe Biden, recently signed a bill that mandates TikTok‘s parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform to a US-based entity by January 2025 or face a potential ban in the country.

Months ago, the US Justice Department declared that TikTok is a threat to national security because it allows the Chinese government to gather information about American users and possibly affect what content they consume.
In a federal appeal court, TikTok has now disputed the allegations and argued that the US Department of Justice misrepresented its ties to China.
