Tottenham Hotspur have advanced to the semifinal of the Carabao Cup after beating Manchester United 4-3 in a thrilling quarter-final clash on Thursday night.
Tottenham survived a Manchester United comeback and their own attempts at self-destruction to reach the last four.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were cruising at 3-0 up in less than an hour until two calamitous errors from Spurs keeper Fraser Forster opened the door to an unlikely United revival.
Dominic Solanke capitalized on a mistake by United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to give Spurs an early lead in a tightly contested first half.
The second half saw explosive action as Dejan Kulusevski scored immediately after the restart, and Solanke added a second in the 54th minute, leaving United reeling after their derby win against Manchester City.

However, Spurs goalkeeper Fraser Forster’s errors gave United a lifeline. A poor pass gifted Bruno Fernandes the chance to set up Joshua Zirkzee for an easy finish, and another mistake allowed Amad Diallo to score.
Spurs eased the pressure when Son Heung-min’s corner curled directly into the net, though Jonny Evans headed in a late United third after yet another Forster blunder. Despite the chaos, Spurs held on for the win.
The draw for the semifinal held immediately after the game, and Tottenham will be meeting Liverpool next in their quest for the title.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will take on Newcastle United for a place in the final.
