Security challenges in Kebbi South now history – Governor Idris

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has declared that security challenges in Kebbi South are now a thing of the past

Idris attributed the return of peace to divine intervention and the collective efforts of security agencies.

The governor made this known while speaking at a reception held at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, in honour of Abubakar Gari-Mallam, Shatiman Gwandu, who was recently appointed as the Managing Director of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The security challenges in Kebbi South are now history, by God’s grace. My recent thank-you visit confirmed that peace has returned, allowing farmers to resume work,” Governor Idris stated.

Describing the appointment as well-deserved, Governor Idris expressed confidence in Gari-Mallam’s ability to deliver, citing his experience as a retired Deputy Comptroller General of Customs and a seasoned politician.

“The new MD is not only representing Kebbi State but the entire North-West. I have no doubt he will perform excellently,” he said.

Governor Idris also reaffirmed his commitment to securing more federal appointments for Kebbi indigenes, emphasising the importance of representation at the national level for the state’s development.
