The Saudi Arabia professional league is better than the French topflight, Ligue 1, according to Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star expressed his opinion recently, and once again rated his current league better than the European top 5.
During the 15th Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo reportedly remarked (via Get French Football): “Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. France only has Paris Saint-Germain. The rest are finished.”

This is not the first time the Portuguese star has criticized the French top division, as he had suggested same during the 14th Globe Soccer Awards.
Ronaldo’s comments had previously drawn backlash from Ligue 1 figures, including Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca, then-coach of Lille OSC, who pointed out that Ronaldo has never played in the French league.
Meanwhile, Ligue 1 clubs like Lille and Stade Brestois are currently occupying automatic qualification spots in this season’s UEFA Champions League league phase.
