Newscenter Media News Ride-hailing company, Lyft, has agreed to pay a $2.1 million civil fine in order to resolve allegations from the United States Federal Trade Commission that it deceived potential drivers about the potential income.
The complaint and proposed settlement, which needs a judge’s approval, were filed in federal court in San Francisco on Friday by the US Department of Justice after the FTC notified and referred the case.

Lyft was accused of making “numerous false and misleading claims” in ads created in 2021 and 2022, after previous COVID-19 lockdowns had caused demand for rides to rebound.
