PDP sweeps Plateau local council election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won 15 out of the 17 chairmanship seats in last Saturday’s local government election in Plateau State.

The Chairman of the Plateau Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), Mr. Planji Cishak, announced the results on Thursday evening in Jos.

He, however, said the results for Pankshin and Langtang-North LGA were still pending.

Chishak added that the winners had satisfied the provision of the law and had been returned elected.

The chairman said the results of the councilorship election would be announced at a later date.
