Newscenter Media News The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) said on Monday operations have resumed at the Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) in Delta State.
This came just weeks after the commencement of operations at the old Port Harcourt Refinery.
The NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Melee Kyari, confirmed the development during a tour of the 125,000-barrel-per-day facility in Warri.
He was accompanied on the trip by the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed.

Kyari said: “This plant is running. Although it is not 100 percent complete, we are in the process. Many people think real progress is impossible in this country. We want you to see that it is real.”
The refinery located in the Ekpan, Uwvie, and Ubeji areas of Warri, produces 13,000 metric tonnes of polypropylene and 18,000 metric tonnes of carbon black annually.
The WRPC commissioned in 1978 serves markets in the southern part of the country.
