NGX: Equities market sustains bullish run as investors make N197bn

The Nigerian equities market gained a massive N3.4 trillion at the close of trading on Tuesday.

This followed a surge in the share prices of stocks like CHAMPION, TANTALIZER, and OANDO amongst others on the trading floor.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization rose to N59.7 trillion from N59.5 trillion recorded by the bourse on Monday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 98,540.93 from 98,215.13 recorded the previous day.

The market breadth was negative as 15 stocks advanced and 28 stocks declined, while 73 stocks remained unchanged in 9,650 deals.

CHAMPION, TANTALIZER, and OANDO led other gainers with 9.97%, 9.09%, and 7.93% growth each in share prices to close at N3.42, N0.60, and N77.60 from the previous N3.11, N0.55 and N71.90 per share.

On the flip side, CAVERTON, TRIPPLEG, and CI LEASING led other price decliners as they shed 10%, 9.95%, and 9.80% each to close at N2.34, N1.81, and N3.59 from the initial N2.60, N2.01, and N3.98 per share.

On the volume index, ACCESS CORP led trading with 45 million shares in 334 deals followed by ZENITH BANK which traded 30 million shares in 351 deals.

ARADEL traded 25 million shares valued in 2,288 deals.

On the value index, ARADEL recorded the highest value for the day trading stocks worth N20 billion in 2,288 deals followed by SEPLAT which traded equities worth N1.1 billion in 77 deals.

ZENITH BANK traded shares valued at N1.1 billion in 351 deals.
