NGX: Equities market rebounds as investors gain ₦426bn

The Nigerian equities market rebounded from previous day’s loss with a N426 billion gain for investors at the close of trading on Tuesday.

This followed the surge in the share prices of stocks like ELLAH LAKES, HONEY FLOUR, and ETERNA amongst others on the trading floor.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization rose to ₦66.4 trillion from ₦66.06 trillion posted by the bourse on Monday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 106,574.98 points from the 105,891.33 points which were recorded the previous day.

The market breadth was positive: 39 stocks advanced and 24 stocks declined, while 58 stocks remained unchanged in 15, 561 deals.

ELLAH LAKES, HONEY FLOUR and ETERNA led other gainers with 10%, 9.93% and 9.93% growth each in prices to close at N3.63, N11.51 and N44.30 from the previous N3.30, N10.47 and N40.30 per share.

INTENEGINS, EUNISELL, and SOVEREIGN TRUST INSURANCE led other price decliners with 9.78%, 9.74%, and 9.02% dip in share prices to close at N2.03, N12.05 and N1.21 from the previous N2.25, N13.35 and N1.33 per share.

On the volume index, ACCESS CORP led trading with 38 million shares in 640 deals followed by TRANSCORP which traded 35 million shares in 700 deals.

VERITASKAP traded 26 million shares in 168 deals.

On the value index, TRANSCORP traded stocks worth N2.1 billion in 700 deals followed by OANDO which traded equities worth N1 billion in 633 deals.

ACCESS CORP traded shares valued at N1 billion in 640 deals.
