Newscenter Media News Worried by increasing levels of insecurity, a group known as Light Up Port Harcourt wants to grow local talents with the aim of getting more youths positively engaged, and off the street.
Chief Executive officer, Mr Happy Agi, said the project will promote talents and provide platforms to showcase the potentials of young stars. He said this will, in turn, reduce social vices and boost the economy.
According to Agi, the second edition of Light Up, scheduled for September 2024, will close gaps in the entertainment industry.
Also, the chief executive officer of Grafton Records, Tonye Ibiama, said the company had created a platform to help nurture talents in Port Harcourt. He said: “The platform, called ‘Climax Night’ produced Burna Boy who is now the king of Africa. The truth is, no platform, no talent.”
