Newscenter Media News The lawmaker representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in Delta State, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, has described her defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a decisive step to safeguard her political career.
The lawmaker, who spoke at an empowerment programme held in Oghara, Ethiope West local government area of the state, accused the PDP of attempting to stifle her political ambitions.
Ibori-Suenu, who is the daughter of former Delta State governor, James Ibori, was one of the five members of the House of Representatives who joined the APC last week.
The remaining four lawmakers were from the Labour Party.

She said: “The wind and lightning that would destroy PDP is here. We will bury PDP in the Ologbo River, the bridge between Delta State and Edo State. I am already at home; APC is supreme. The people in PDP wanted to kill my political aspirations, but thank goodness that I have finally left.
The lawmaker declared that her departure from the PDP marked the end of the party’s relevance in her constituency and Delta State at large.
“With my exit, PDP is dead in Ethiope Federal Constituency and across Delta State,” she said while expressing gratitude to her supporters and APC leaders.
