The Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, has refuted an online report claiming that some professors lecturing in the school are fraudulent.
DAILY POST recalls that an online platform (not DAILYPOST) had published a report alleging that no fewer than 100 professors in various Nigerian universities, including some from FUTA, were fake.
But, the Management of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, through the Registrar, Mr Charles Adeleye, has denied the existence of fake professors, dismissing the report as pure fiction.
Adeleye noted that none of the names listed as fake professors existed in FUTA.
The statement clarified that the names associated with FUTA in the list are entirely fictional and do not correspond to any individuals on the university’s staff roster.
The statement further stated that the names of all genuine staff members, including those in the professorial cadre, are officially documented in the university calendar.
Adeleye noted further that the names of all professors can be verified in the Order of Proceedings for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony, published in December 2023.
The registrar urged the public to disregard the fictitious publication, branding those disseminating it as purveyors of lies and falsehood.
The controversial online report had listed nine names allegedly affiliated with FUTA, including Prof. Titi Adejumo, Prof Olumide Adebanjo, Prof. Ayodele Adewole, Prof Ayoade Adewumi, and Prof. Alaba Adewale.
However, the institution firmly denied that these names were part of their staff payroll.
