Newscenter Media News The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called its 15th witness in the ongoing money laundering trial of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose. The witness, Joseph Machleb, testified before the court on Thursday.
Machleb, a mechanic at Samchase Nigeria Ltd., revealed that he co-founded JJ Technical Services Ltd. with his elder brother. They entrusted Azeez Michelle with soliciting contracts for the company. However, Machleb denied authorizing Michelle to buy property or execute transactions without his consent.
During cross-examination by defense counsel Olalekan Ojo (SAN), Machleb acknowledged signing a document dated November 20, 2013, which contradicted his earlier testimony. Ojo asked if Machleb was worried about his company’s potential problems after his brother informed him of issues. Machleb replied, “Of course.”

Machleb confirmed that JJ Technical Services Ltd. operates legitimate businesses and has no knowledge of documents MM1 and 2. When asked about Fayose, Machleb said he recognized him from TV and acknowledged his former governorship. However, Machleb denied any business dealings with Fayose during his tenure.
The witness also denied knowing Biodun Agbele or having transactions with him. When questioned about his EFCC visit, Machleb recalled being shown an agreement between his company and the first defendant.
Under cross-examination by Uchenna Njoku (SAN), Machleb reaffirmed his trust in Michelle to act on behalf of JJ Technical Services Ltd.
Fayose faces N6.9 billion fraud and money laundering charges, with 11 counts bordering on fraud and money laundering offenses.
The trial has been adjourned until October 18.
