Europa: Spurs thrash Qarabag as Dessers helps Rangers win at Malmo

Tottenham Hotspur got their Europa League campaign off to a perfect start as they secured a 3-0 victory over Qarabag on Thursday night.

Spurs finished the game with 10 men and actually played most part of the game short of one player after Radu Drăgușin was shown a red card in the seventh minute.

Brennan Johnson, Pape Sarr and Dominic Solanke were on target for the home side as they cruised to victory in London.

Earlier in the night, Nigeria forward Cyriel Dessers helped Rangers defeat Malmo 2-0 to also begin their campaign on a bright note.

In Turkey, Fenerbahce defeated Union SG 2-1, Ajax thrashed Besiktas 4-0, Franfurt and Vitoria Plzn played a 3-3 draw while Lyon defeated Olympiakos 2-0.

In the other Europa League ties on Thursday night, AS Roma and Athletic Bilbao played a 1-1 draw while Sporting Braga defeated Maccabi TA 2-1
