England beat Switzerland on penalties to reach Euro semis

The Three Lions of England have advanced to the semifinal of the European Championship after beating Switzerland on penalties on Saturday night.

Both sides had played a 1-1 draw after extra time, with Bukayo Saka scoring an 80th-minute equaliser for England after B Embolo opened scoring for the Swiss.

In the shootout, Manuel Akanji failed to convert the first kick for Switzerland, while Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the winning penalty as England scaled 5-3.
