Edo Guber: INEC set to issue certificates of return to governor-elect, okpebholo

The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to issue certificates of return to the Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa.

The exercise is expected to take place Thursday (today) at the INEC headquarters.

Okpebholo, his Deputy and other stakeholders are currently at the INEC headquarters.

DAILY POST recalls that Okpebholo, who contested the election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, was declared the winner on Sunday.

He garnered 291,667 votes to defeat his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who also scored 247,274 votes.

Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata finished third with 22,761 votes.
