Newscenter Media News In a move aimed at providing relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol.
Effective February 27, 2025, the price of petrol will decrease by N65.00, from N890 to N825 per litre.
According to a statement by the refinery, this strategic price adjustment is designed to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy by alleviating the financial burden on the Nigerian populace. “This marks the second price reduction of PMS in February 2025, following a previous decrease of N60.00 earlier in the month,” the statement added.
The refinery’s management emphasized that this move is part of their consistent efforts to lower the prices of petrol and other refined petroleum products for the benefit of Nigerians. In December 2024, the refinery reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre.
With the latest reduction, Nigerians will be able to purchase Dangote petrol at the following prices in all partner retail outlets: MRS Holdings stations: N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East.
This price reduction is expected to bring relief to Nigerians, particularly as the Ramadan season approaches. The Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s commitment to providing affordable petroleum products is seen as a positive step towards supporting the country’s economic recovery efforts.
