CHAN Eagles to discover group foes Jan 15

The home-based Super Eagles will discover their group-stage opponents for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Wednesday, January 15.

The tournament finals, billed to take place between February 1 to 28, 2025, will have its draw held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

Nigeria secured qualification for CHAN after a 3-1 aggregate victory over arch-rivals Ghana. It marks the team’s return to the competition after a six-year absence.

Ripples Nigeria earlier reported that preparations for the tournament will kick off today Monday at Ikenne, where the Nigerian squad will undergo intensive training.

Stand-in head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has already called up 26 players for the pre-tournament camp.

The 2024 CHAN, exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues in the continent, will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
