Newscenter Media News The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the removal of the second-leg fixture of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights.
Originally scheduled to take place in Libya at 8:00p.m today (Tuesday), the match has been called off after the Super Eagles withdrew from the tie.
The fixture follows the first leg, where the Super Eagles secured a narrow victory with a lone goal at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo last Friday.

The return leg has now been called off after Super Eagles players and officials recounted their harrowing experience at a Libyan airport, where they endured over 14 hours of delays before being forced to return home.
In response, CAF has initiated an investigation into the incident following allegations of sabotage made by the Libya Football Federation, which has threatened legal action against Nigeria.
Additionally, CAF updated its schedule for matches to be played on Tuesday, notably omitting the Libya versus Nigeria game from its announcements on social media.
