The La Liga clash saw Éder Militão score the first goal through an assist from Vinicius Junior for Real in the 64th minute.
Shortly after the goal, Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois complained to officials that home fans behind his goal were throwing objects on to the field.
After conversations with both managers, the referee chose to take the players off the pitch. The game restarted after a 20-minute delay.

After the break, Atletico put up more pressure on their visitors and finally got a point from the game, as Ángel Correa netted the equaliser in the fifth minute of added time.
Correa’s goal was his 66th in La Liga – and the 23rd as a substitute, equalling Walter Pandiani and Álvaro Morata in fifth place in the all-time leading La Liga goalscorers among substitutes.
Atletico finished the game with 10 men after Marcos Llorente was shown a red card in the 90’+9th minute of the encounter.
With the result, Barcelona, who were beaten by Osasuna on Saturday, remain at the top of the league, three points ahead of Real Madrid in second place, and five points ahead of Atletico in third.
