Newscenter Media News The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed reports on the planned impeachment of principal officers of the Red Chamber.
Reports emerged on social media on Tuesday that the Department of States Service (DSS) operatives had been deployed to the National Assembly over a planned impeachment of the Senate senior officials.
Akpabio, who spoke at Wednesday’s plenary in Abuja, urged Nigerians to disregard the fake news.

He described the reports as the handiwork of mischief makers.
The Senate President said the lawmakers are carrying out their constitutional duties and would not be deterred by the reports.
‘We are here, doing our work very peacefully, oblivious of the mischief,’ he stated.
